More than 100 villagers came along to the joint public meeting - TopicsExpress

More than 100 villagers came along to the joint public meeting hosted by Cottingham and Middleton Parish Councils on Wednesday 19 March to discuss the outline planning application for housing on land off Bury Close. The villagers, who were overwhelmingly against the proposal, voiced their concerns about the devastating effect this development would have on their everyday lives and the rural village environment around them. The Parish Councils have formed a Working Group to lead the action against this development and are asking for your support as follows. Objecting to the proposal Please send your objections to Corby Borough Council’s Planning Department at the following address by the deadline of 31 March 2014. Gavin Ferries Planning Department Corby Borough Council Deene House New Post Office Square Corby Northamptonshire NN17 1GD Email [email protected] If you wrote to object to the planning consultation in October 2013, please be aware that this will not be considered in relation to this planning application – you will need to write in again. You can find guidance on what to include in your objection letters on the village website here. If there is more than one person in your household of voting age, please send separate letters or emails, as a joint letter will only count as one objection. If you send a letter or email, please send a copy to your Parish Council Chairman (contacts below) so they can keep track of villagers’ views on this important issue. You can view the planning documents on Corby Borough Council’s website at corby.gov.uk/planningonline - select “I accept the terms & conditions shown above” to access the Planning Portal (ref 14/00094/OUT). Petition As well as sending in your objection letters, a petition opposing the development is now available to sign in the Village Store, or you can download a blank copy from the village website here. If you are happy to knock on your neighbours’ doors to gather signatures, or take a copy of the petition along to a group you are involved in, please feel free. Please return petition forms by Wednesday 26 March to 3 Corby Road, Cottingham, Market Harborough, Leicestershire LE16 8XH. This will give the Working Group time to collate the information and submit it to Corby Borough Council before the end of the month.
