More than flowers, cards, jewelry, or tea, The greatest gift I gave my mom was this: I accepted her humanity. When I recognized her as a fellow traveler on the path of Life, when I learned to appreciate her, warts and all, I no longer expected her to be some idyllic, fairy tale, TV show mom. I celebrated the woman she was and embraced the way she loved me. For I discovered that her imperfections made her perfectly right. She was the best mom for me. She was a wife, a sister, and a mother, yes, but before any of that, she was a Child of God. Just like me! Today, accept the woman, the person, the child of God you call mom. Honor the spirit within her. Love the love inside her. See the angels beside her. Then celebrate! We are all so loved. Give thanks! We are all so blessed. Let this be a Happy Mothers Day indeed.
