More updates on our new life in Tenerife - Whats the place like- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- after a few more days being in Tenerife Canary Islands Spain we are finally starting to settle and get used to things a bit more. We have enjoyed the simple pleasure of exploring a new town for the first time, learning the ways and hours of the life here. As this definitely seems to be a place that exists back in time anywhere from 50-100 years its just very slow and peaceful, the town has cobble stone roads and some villages have no electricity and still use horse drawn carriages. It feels like a small town village such as the movies tangled or beauty and the beast just to give you an picture and idea. its a mixture of europe spain, morocco africa bio diversities. I am also getting used to cooler weather which we are told is a bit strange as Tenerife is known as a perpetual spring weather place and is the warmest of all the canary islands as it gets the most sun. I mostly have warm warm tropical clothes so i have had to reinvent new ways to wear my clothes to stay warm, some of the shops though had random deals of of 1 euro for a really nice warm sweater and leggings are pretty helpful here to just in case. As this island is also known for its constant changing of weather at just the drop of the hat, so if you want different weather you can drive to another part of the island. It has many mirco climates here and all the weather there is such as hot aired sahara desert in the south, snowy mountains in the center, cool breezes by the sea and forests and so on. But i think its best just to have shorts pants and a jacket with you at all times. We are living by the sea pretty high above sea level, the cliffs here are so green and defined with amazing plants flowers grow everywhere here as well. So we have a spectral view of the mountains the plants the ocean and even the sun set every evening as it looks to be setting inside the sea painting the sky a plethora of pink purples and orange. Thats the other thing that takes a bit to get used to in bali the sun set at 6pm sometimes earlier here it sets at 10pm so its always surprising how late it is here. cause we are so high up above sea level there is lots up hill and down hill hikes and stairs oh lots of stairs we have not walked this much in our whole time of being in bali where we mostly biked everywhere but we can not do that here its all walking and busing here. My favorite thing is the food most of the people are farmers here and because it has so many micro climates here everything grows here and its all fresh not sprayed with any poisons as everything is done the old fashioned way nor is there any GMO either so the fruits and vegetables are so delicious and super cheap. The markets are very exciting for this reason. I always wanted to travel back in time to eat food long before it was ever tampered with. And all wines cheese and large bottles of beer all good quality are pretty much only 1 euro. so all of our faces are pretty much stained with wine we look like someone punched us all in the mouth. it does not do us any good to know spanish cause they speak their own spanish diegos italian helps as its similar to spanish. The people are very friendly, warm, gentle, sincere but incredibly strange looking like i said lord of the ring characters, they are their own species and category all together just riding the bus here and seeing the people come aboard is something else. we are scratching our head as to how such a thing is possible. It is beyond funny to us and is something that i can not stop laughing about.yes this place is much like middle earth. im so glad to have silke with us so she is so awesome and is going to be so helpful to the EOF team. for those of you who do not know her she is on our new website as the first brave one to spend a year with us in bali detoxing her mind and 7 months into her year we said if we move to canary islands will you come with us and she said yes, definitly. we have lots of laughs together. and so far so good with finding a more bigger place for the others who want to come and live out here with us there are lots of places with good deals available that could also be used as an EOF office and first EOF center. tomorrow morning meg arrives so we will go to the north to pick her up at the airport and explore that area i am super curious of the many city here called santa cruz we are currently in the san marco area. Meg is also mentioned on the new website as the EOF manager and she is also super awesome i am so looking forward to seeing her and showing her around this island and also recovering diegos bag and computer that got by accidentally left in bali (more about that story late on how that happened) so we can put up our goddess retreat video we all did right before we left bali, scroll down to see pictures and previews of all of us dressed as goddesses, yes even diego. LOL how diego loves girls night.. no diego did not have help with his make up he did it all on his own and did a better job then all 3 of us girls.
