More volunteer opportunities in the Estes Park area: 1) Volunteers Needed – Flood Recovery. Volunteers are needed to distribute sandbags in Larimer County in the event spring runoff causes flooding. The Long Term Recovery Group of Larimer County is preparing for spring runoff. UMCOR/RMCUMC is working to help individuals and families that need assistance recovering from last year’s flood. Most of them have some type of damage to their homes or property. In order to bring the right resources to bear, we need skilled volunteers to go to the property, assess the situation and develop a work plan to address the issues. This is where we need help. We need individuals that have some construction or home repair experience to assess home and property damage, outline the steps, equipment and skills required to repair or reconstruct and then manage the project to completion. Training will be provided by UMCOR. The time commitment for this work is flexible and at your discretion.
