Moremi is the Ile-Ife beauty who helped the people to put an end to the menace of a group disguised with grass from the Eart. This group regularly attacked Ife people and took many of them away into slavery. Moremi decided to go with them and marry one of the attackers so she could know who they were and the secret behind their power. On knowing their secrets, she leaked information about them to her people and when they later came to raid Ile-Ife, the attackers were set on fire and never came back again. For this heroic act, Moremi occupies a special place in the history of Ile-Ife and she is remembered every year with the "Edi" festival. Feel free and share!
