Moreover thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord; Shall they fall, and not arise? shall he turn away, and not return? Why then is this people of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? they hold back deceit, they refuse to return. Jeremiah 8:4-5---When I read these verses this morning, my mind immediately went to thoughts of America, a nation that was built on a foundation of love for God. I thought, WOW, this is exactly where America is spiritually today!!! When a person, or a nation, falls or begins to decline, or realizes he is headed in the wrong direction, it only makes sense to get up or change directions. But as God watched His people--His nation--He saw people living sinful lives by choice, deciding themselves that there would be no consequences for their sins. They had lost perspective concerning Gods will for their lives and were trying to minimize their sins. Are we doing this very same thing today??? Are their indications that we are heading in the wrong direction??? What are we, as a nation and as individuals, doing to get back on the right path??? America Needs God!!!! We, as individuals, Need God!!!! Love Yall!!!!
