Morgan and I got to spend some more time working on our partner - TopicsExpress

Morgan and I got to spend some more time working on our partner weaves over the Thanksgiving break and us being us, realized that there was no solid taxonomy for partner 3-beats and decided to create one. The long and short of it is this: each of these partner weaves has a timing and direction relative to the performer, but they result in very different types of weaves when put in a two person context. We categorized them according to the movements they require out of the partners both in terms of rocking the shoulders back and forth as well as whether your arms are split above & below your partners or whether theyre both on the same side of your partners shoulders. So heres our breakdown: Two body movement types: Dynamic (shoulders rock back and forth) and Static (shoulders remain motionless) Two arm movement types: Same (arms are both either above or below your partners) and Split (one arm above, one below your partners) Thus they can be combined together as such: Dynamic Split (personal split opp) Dynamic Same (personal tog same) Static Same (personal tog opp) Static Split (personal split same)
