Morning All... Just to update that the rough weather this week will be confined to the North and North-West England and Scotland where showers of sleet and snow will persist. A very windy spell of 60-70mph gusts in Northern England and Scotland will start overnight Tuesday and it will be particularly blustery on Wednesday when the strongest of the winds will blow, and there will be plenty of snow here too... Briefly outlining the next four days for Southern and Eastern areas, where it will be dry, cold, blustery, sunny spells with a bitterly cold wind chill from Tuesday right through to Friday, where wind gusts could reach gale force at times (40mph+) Frost tonight (Mon 8th) is likely to be widespread as temperatures will dip below 0C (32F) in most places, but with strong winds for the rest of the week, Wednesday night will be clear, crisp and cold, but with a slightly less intense frost with lows of 2C (36F), rural spots sheltered from the bitter NW wind will have lower temperatures. Wet spells will be Tuesday night (9th) to early hours of Wednesday (10th) where the temperatures will be highest through the overnight period when it rains 10C (50F) dropping rapidly when the sun comes out to 6C (43F) The other wet spell will be midnight Thursday night (11th) through to Friday morning (12th)... again, highs of 10C (50F) will occur at 6am, when the rain clears by 9am. So, to recap, days this week in the South (apart from early Friday AM) will be dry, windy, cold with patchy cloud and highs will be steady at about 6-7C (43-45F) but the wind will make it feel more like 3-4C (37-39F)... The further north and west you are, the more likely the chance of wintry showers, snow on hills, and stronger, possibly damaging, winds at times, and this is the latest Winter Weather update... For Now... :-)
