Morning, Chicago! We are hearing reports of FLURRIES near I-355 Roosevelt Rd. (We can’t even with the snow.) But, it’s Friday! Chilly with rain and cloudy skies today. High near 59. We should see some sunshine during the weekend. Hope! Much of Chicago will be watching tonight’s game 7 between the Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings. If the Ducks win, the Blackhawks head to Anaheim to start the NHL Western Conference Finals. If LA wins, the Hawks start that series here at home. (Go Kings!) Just ahead on Morning Edition – we have a tribute to NPR Newscaster Carl Kasell. He’s retiring after 60 years in radio! He will become “scorekeeper emeritus” for Wait Wait Dont Tell Me.” Listen in at 7:51 for this look back on a remarkable career and an awesome jingle. (Lisa Labuz wants her own jingle) On The Morning Shift, an update on the future of the rideshare industry, the difference in working styles of Boomers and Millennials and a preview of prom weekend for some Chicago Public Schools students At noon on Worldview: From a young Iranian woman who dreams of being an astronaut to a portrait of young Syrian revolutionaries, we’ll hear about the documentaries at the Human Rights Film Festival.
