Morning Friends.... Galatians 4:4-7 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. Last night I preached a message about the nature of our Heavenly Father......and I woke up this morning still thinking about and rejoicing in the love of MY FATHER !! Statistics tell us that in the United States 1 in 3 children go to bed every night without a father in the house. These children have a higher rate of poverty, incarceration, and behavioral issues. Growing up in a broken home without a father has serious consequences for the children involved. Many names throughout scripture describe God’s identity and character, but the most prominent name found in the New Testament is Father......and in the book of Psalms He even promises to be a Father to the fatherless. (Psalms 68:5 A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.) When we experience salvation through Jesus, we are given a unique relationship with Him as His children where we can call Him “Abba Father” which literally means my Daddy. In a culture full of broken homes, many fathers lack strength, integrity, and compassion, but when we become part of God’s family, we discover a father who is good, right, and perfect in every way who also invites us as His children to approach Him as our loving Father........the Father who has eternal, unconditional love for us.......Jeremiah 31:3 The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. No matter who we are, where we come from, or even how dysfunctional our earthly family may be....we have a FATHER who wants to love and provide for us like no other. (Psalms 103:13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.) I am so thankful today that I can.....from the depths of my soul....cry Abba Father !! Blessings on your day !!
