Morning Friends.... Isaiah 33:21-22 But there the glorious Lord will be unto us a place of broad rivers and streams; wherein shall go no galley with oars, neither shall gallant ship pass thereby. For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; he will save us. What a promise from our Eternal God.....you see broad rivers and streams produce fertility, and abundance in the land wherever they flow. Places near broad rivers are remarkable for the variety of their plants and their plentiful harvests. God here, promises to be all this to His Church. Having God we have abundance. In the 26th chapter of this same book, God promised abundance...... Isaiah 25:6 And in this mountain shall the Lord of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined. Do you thirst and long for refreshing streams.....He promises they will flow even in barren places....Isaiah 35:6 Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert. Where the river of God flows there is always refreshing and productiveness.....Psalms 46:4-5 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. Broad rivers and streams also point to commerce....... Our glorious Lord is to us a place of heavenly provision. Listen to this quote from C.H. Spurgeon Through our Redeemer we have commerce with the past; the wealth of Calvary, the treasures of the covenant, the riches of the ancient days of election, the stores of eternity, all come to us down the broad stream of our gracious Lord. We have commerce, too, with the future. What galleys, laden to the waters edge, come to us from the millennium! What visions we have of the days of heaven upon earth! Through our glorious Lord we have commerce with angels; communion with the bright spirits washed in blood, who sing before the throne; nay, better still, we have fellowship with the Infinite One. (Quoted) What a flow we are afforded from the River that flows from Gods throne. Broad rivers and streams are also a source of security. Rivers were often used in the past as a defense......and oh what a defense God is for His Church. The devil cannot come across this broad river of God. Satan certainly wishes he could turn the current...but we have nothing to be afraid of, for God abideth immutably the same and His broad river stands as a barrier against our enemy. The devil may roam about as a roaring lion (see 1Pet. 5:8) but he cannot destroy us.....no galley with oars shall invade our river, neither shall gallant ship pass thereby(vs.21) Stay near the flow.....thats the place of productiveness, provision and protection.....and there we will remain close to the One who will be our KING....DEFENDER.....and SAVIOR (vs. 22) Blessings !!
