Morning Inspiration: What is more pleasing to the Lord: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to His voice? Obedience is far better than sacrifice. Listening to Him is much better than offering the fat of rams. 1st Samuel 15:22 Many people fool themselves by being religious. We can act godly, without ever really thinking about the Lord, or what He wants from us. Going to church, donating to charity, and giving of our time, are all worthwhile activities...but without love of and devotion to Jesus, they are useless in the eyes of God! In numerous places, Scripture repeats the message I dont want your sacrifices, unless I have your love! Religious rituals dont cut it. Giving through guilt, or as a pay-off for sin is useless. The ONLY things we can give Him that truly matter, are our devotion, obedience and love.
