Morning Inspirations For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. (Romans 14:11) Good morning FBF!! One Sunday I was watching Lift Every Voice, and the host, Fonzworth Bentley, was interviewing Russell Simmons, the business titan of the “Def” label and a big promoter of Hip Hop, about his book on subject of meditation! Simmons expressed a lot of passion in promoting meditation in the school system, and all across the country! He talked about the importance of taking time to meditate before starting the day – to take time to visualize your goals! Bentley asked questions and listened intently to Simmons’ answers, and at one point Simmons mentioned God in his conversation concerning meditation! This prompted Bentley to ask him, “What is your concept of God?!” Simmons’ replied, “I believe in all the prophets – Jesus, Buddha, Muhammad, and others!” Bentley responded, “As a Christian, I believe in Jesus Christ, and that all the other prophets are still in their graves, and Jesus is not!” This seemed to offend Simmons, who tries to walk according to his serene Buddhist-type lifestyle! Simmons said that he wasn’t angry, but he suggested that Bentley had to appease his “Christian audience,” and that his brother Rev. Run, former member of Run DMC, and now a Christian minister, tells him the same thing! Oh how that enemy spirit gets rattled when he is found out and confronted with the truth! Jesus said Himself, “I am THE WAY, THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE! NO MAN comes to the Father, BUT by ME!! Buffet religions are not going to cut it when we come before the only true Savior, and that is Jesus Christ! People throwing Jesus “into the mix” of their “home-grown” philosophy, is only attempting to cover all the bases! But there is only one base to cover, and one foundation to build on! That foundation is Jesus Christ – who is the FULFILLMENT, and the FULFILLER of all prophecy! Have a blessed day in the Lord!! – CEM
