Morning Inspirations Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands. They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them. (Psalm115:4, 8) Good morning FBF!! During my time teaching as an Adjunct Professor of Religious Studies, I have learned many things about many religions! I have learned of religions that I have never heard of, and many more are being revealed to me on a weekly basis! Some religions are spinoffs of known religions, and others may seem completely new! But there is one thing that I have learned, and that is the more I study and teach about these religions, the more I believe in the God of my salvation, which is Jesus Christ! All the founders of these religions are dead, never claiming to rise again! Their graves are known, and the bodies have turned to dust! But Jesus rose as He said; and His body is not to be found in the tomb! HE IS RISEN!! Many of the gods and goddesses of other religions claim the same imperfect characteristics as their worshippers! Man sees his salvation or liberation in this life as something to “work” towards – manipulating the unseen spirits to help them! Some see nature as god, and others teach that everything – animate and inanimate – have a spirit! There are a few that believe in one god who is a creator, but he has no son, or if he does have a “son,” it is taught that he was created! But we believe that Jesus is the Son of God – the expressed image of the Father – from everlasting to everlasting – the Eternal One! For the apostle John wrote, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God!” Then he wrote a little further in his gospel that “the Word became FLESH, and dwelt among us!” The prophet Habakkuk wrote, “Woe unto him that saith to the wood, Awake; to the dumb stone, Arise, it shall teach! Behold, it is laid over with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst of it!” We serve a personal God who desires a relationship with His creation – man – who He made “a little lower than the angels, and has given him dominion over the works of His hands!” Buddha is just a statue, which cannot hear, speak, see, or move under his own ability; but the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is Omniscience, Omnipotent, and Omnipresent! He is Sovereign Creator and Lord of all creation – seen and unseen! Which one will you serve?! Have a blessed day in the Lord!!
