Morning Musings. Someone sent me a note asking me about prayer, if everything is Gods will, why the need to pray? A fair question, one that i dont know if i can answer for anyone else, but i will put my two cents in. For me, prayer does not necessarily mean getting down on ones knees folding hands in front of your breast in supplication. I look at prayer as the door to open a dialogue with God. I am consciously connecting to God. Once that door has been opened, i simply talk from the heart. The conversation may run the gamut of what went on during my day, offering gratitude for all the blessings. The conversation may entail all the challenges i encountered and ask for guidance. The conversation may be directed towards wanting miracles of healing for others. The conversation can be frivolous and filled with laughter at the silliest jokes i read or the cutest videos of animals on FaceBook. I am not one that is steeped in deep rituals, but the one ritual i have is living in prayer every waking moment. Because for me, prayer is simply allowing myself to open myself up to God, to talk and to listen. And in those moments of when i am silent, tears well up in my eyes and my heart swells as i feel His Love. And so for me, i live in prayer all the time.
