Morning Ohana... You may have seen my post of an invoice this morning for Mara, Hemi and Iris...here is the update. Iris. Starting two days ago, she started urinating in the house during the night, drinking more water and urinating more frequently. Her history of kidney infections and UTIs, along with these signs of course prompted us to run a urinalysis. We will know later this morning if she has an infection and then decide on how we are going to proceed. Mara. We started treating Mara two weeks ago for a UTI, and she just finished her course of antibiotics. We are rechecking her urine to ensure that the infection has cleared. Two days ago we noticed what appeared to be an ingrown hair on her right side. It is sensitive to the touch, and doubled in size from the time we first noticed it. The doctor is concerned that it is a mass cell tumor, which will need to be removed. She aspirated the mass, and submitted it to the lab for diagnosis. We will be removing it regardless of the results...how aggressive we have to be in the removal...just the mass, or a large area around it will be determined by the results. The doctor looked at her ear, and the hematoma has basically resolved. There is small amount of fluid left, but nothing concerning. Hemi. I shared about him urinating on me, and the behaviorist along with some unusual urinating habits. We discussed this with Dr. V, and she told us to keep a close eye on him. Since his urinalysis was clean last month, she was concerned that his urination issues might be anxiety based. Two nights ago Hemi was sleeping with Michael. At around midnight Michael woke up warm and wet, Hemi still sleeping. Hemi has passively urinated in his sleep. This is a good sign we have something physical occurring. The doctor collected urine using a needle guided process. This allows for a sterile sample and is better than a free catch sample which can be contaminated. The ultrasound also lets them take a peek at his bladder, kidneys and all his other internal goodies. She noticed that his prostate is enlarged, indicating it might have an infection. Blood was taken for labs along with urine...we will know more later today. As always, I will keep you posted on your Angels. Our visit yesterday totaled $913.50 for all three kids, which was paid by Michael and I as there are no funds in the Angels account. If you feel compelled and have the financial resources to do so please consider making a contribution. In the event that you are unable to contribute financially right now, help spread the word. You never know who might be moved by our journey and will want to help. THANK YOU!!! Contributions can be made at: https://paypal/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=74874CLZE2MXY
