Morning Pack People......so it was going to be a start to a wonderful day - however, apparently GaDaH is once again being slandered, I am being called a hoarder, LIES are being told about me and the rescue. So if there is anyone from the German Shepherd Owners club on this page, particularly Kenzie Heisenburg, let me put your facts straight... I do not, nor have EVER had 100 dogs. So not sure where that little FALSE ALLEGATION came from. My property is actually 7.5 acres, not 2 acres - so again another FALSE ALLEGATION. ALL rescues ask for money to pay for surgeries, that is how they are able to operate, hence being non-profit and tax exempt so people / corporations can write off their donations against their taxes. I have not asked for money for food in a long time, the last 4,000 pound of food delivery we got was several months ago! Another FALSE ALLEGATION. I have TWO Heart-worm positive dogs, who are on doxycycline, which is an antibiotic that you put dogs on to kill off the worm bacteria, which makes the treatment less invasive. Many rescues do slow-kill for Heartworm treatment, we choose the treatment. Suggest you do a bit of research on heartworm disease and how many dogs in shelters actually have the disease - would it be better for me to let the shelter kill them instead? Sick or injured dogs - actually - we have NO injured dogs because they have ALL just recently had surgeries - again, would you like me to leave them in the shelter to be KILLED because they have been injured and have broken legs? Severed Spines? Spines detached from their PELVIS?? Yes it is true the dogs dig under the fence and this problem is being fixed. They get into the field which is MY property. The gate was actually pushed in - not actually collapsed. Fleas I do battle with, but I live in the country and you will find lots of people battle with fleas. ALL of the dogs get monthly flea/tick prevention and I have been applying it at the 3 week point. There are no ticks. 3 weeks ago, we tested 25 dogs for HW and the tick disease as part of their vetting - ALL dogs were NEGATIVE. My dog who had separation anxiety jumped through an OPEN window and his legs when kicked up cracked the top part of the pain. He didnt jump through a CLOSED WINDOW - even dogs are not that stupid. No dogs live as a pack and roam, they all live on my property, there is a feral mother and her 2 pups who always come and interact with people when they come over to get treats. I actually FREE FEED - the food is placed in fence feeders in the rescue area and a large stock-tank - the dogs eat as and when they like. Several places for them to eat and the fact that the dogs eat together actually shows how comfortable they are living together. I NEVER do blood draw, we had a Vet Tech come out 3 weeks ago who drew blood for the HW/tick tests. I will give the core vaccines, de-worm, give sub-q fluids (who my first vet showed me how to do it), give medications. If dogs need surgeries - should they not get the surgeries ??? The specialized surgeons do the surgeries not me. The dogs stay at the vets until the surgeon is happy for them to be released! HARLEY was the dog that had been - HIT, DRAGGED and then run over in Fort Worth, this was seen and a good Samaritan had called the Animal Control, who came to pick him up. The shelter informed me as they know I take in the sick and injured dogs and ensure they get all the health care they need. He was taken to Alvarado Veterinary Clinic, where Dr. Beam put plates in his pelvis, his lower jaw, his upper jaw and his cheek. HARLEY was adopted out a few months ago, to a family who have both had accidents and have plates in their bodies, they felt they could relate to HARLEY and they are all living a wonderful, happy, pain free life. Any dog with a broken leg will get a plate put on its leg to secure the two bones back together. We do not do the pin and wire as this surgery, although less expensive is not as stable and could require surgery again a few years down the line. We choose the surgery that is the best for the dog in the long run - this happens to be plating. If you think these qualified, experienced surgeons should do something else, Im sure Dr. Beam, Alvarado Veterinary Clinic would love to hear from you. I am actually VERY HEALTHY, I just get tired and exhausted when Ive been running around none stop if the 100+degree heat every now and again - we call it burnt out in the rescue world, but after a day of resting I am back up to my healthy self. Curious again to see where your information on my health comes from. Very serious allegation there! You are all for trying to save a dog, but there comes a time where quality of life needs to be considered??? REALLY Kenzie, it sounds to me a lot like you would have left most of the dogs that we have saved to DIE because they had been taken to the shelter and were not perfect? They had been hit by cars, neglected by their owners... YES - lots of the dogs have mange and skin infections, again I suggest you call round to a few shelters and ask the condition of their dogs, sadly it is very common, however, they get all the treatment they need. I have adopted TWO dogs out the past two weeks that had mange, I do not normally adopt them out until they are healthy, however, both families were very persistent having dealt with mange before and knowing how treatable it is. Both dogs had vets appointments at the time of adoption. If anyone would like to talk to the families who adopted the dogs CHIEF and KING, please PM me and I will put you in contact with them. I have the past week alone had FIVE Dogs adopted to wonderful families, who completed our adoption process - I wasnt aware that HOARDERS bothered adopting out their dogs, or paid for surgeries, or fed them 4* food (INNOVA at the moment) TWO new dogs this week -= RIAN and GODIVA - FIVE Dogs adopted out - KING, CHIEF, MERCK, LUNA, CATORI - did you not do very well at math at school Kenzie? So KENZIE HEIZENBERG - what you have done here is blatent SLANDER as nothing of what you have said is true - you claim I dont care for the dogs, yet then say I am always asking for money for surgeries? If I didnt care for the dogs, would I not be letting them suffer with their broken bones and not getting them to the vets for surgeries? Before I go to speak to a lawyer I would like to know where you got all your FACTS or FALSE ALLEGATIONS from because Im sure this will help with the case. I am going to share this information on the rescue page as you see, when you try and pull the rescue down that many many people are part of, you are not just slandering me, but you are attacking the people that support and help, donate and are part of the rescue. In 2013, we adopted 142 German Shepherds / German Shepherd mixes, some of those going on to be Service Dogs for veterans and one even being selected and trained as a Police Narcotics K9. What kind of person are you to be so hateful to someone who you do not know, you post so many lies, yet have not even questioned what you have said.and seen how wrong and twisted it all is. SHAME on you KENZIE HEIZENBERG, just because you claim to love the Breed yet it is very clear from your post that you would rather the dogs be left in the shelters to be killed than someone save them and get them all the required health care and surgeries they need. Should anyone want to talk to our vets about the dogs that we take in and care for: Dr. Beam - Alvarado Veterinary Clinic - he does ALL our surgeries Dr. Yarsbrough - Devine Veterinary Clinic - he is our local vet Dr. MEIER - Leon Valley Animal Hospital - he does our HW treatments and our back up vet if no appointments are available at Devine. Kenzie, you should be so ashamed of yourself and you pathetic little witch hunt it is disgraceful. I have just been approved to join their group, so will now post this there to be sure Kenzie and anyone else who cares to read and be educated sees it!
