Morning Prayer: Father God, Thank You for Your hand of protection over my family while we slept last night and for waking me this morning so I can praise and worship You on this glorious Lords Day. As I sit quietly in Your presence this morning, I am tempted to grow weary and burdened as I begin to prepare for another New Year. Help us to remember Jesus Words Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest (Matthew. 11:28). Lord, help us to continue to focus on the hope of Jesus birth we have just celebrated and to accept Your truths so worry does not become a stronghold in our lives. When I cannot control my worrisome thoughts, help me to reshape my worries into prayers and to lay all my concerns at Your feet. Fill my mind with Your peace that will keep my thoughts and my heart quiet and at rest in the hope I have in Jesus Christ. For I know there is no situation too difficult for You to handle, and I Thank You for the promise Your Word gives us that We do not have to be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, and to present our requests to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7). I commit myself to You, Father, to lean on You and to hope confidently in Your never-ending promises and faithfulness so I can persevere into the New Year without growing weary, because I have the hope that comes from Jesus Christ that I will carry with me.
