Morning! Today is a nice day for me as its 3 years since I handed in my notice at River Island to take the leap into full time self employment! It was a bit scary but I was unhappy there sadly it was a tough year I lost my Nanny in February and in the September my Nanna lost her battle with cancer and she, my great uncle and a family friend all passed away within 6 days of each other. So I decided life was too short to hold back on trying to do what I really wanted with my life for the sake of a proper job that wasnt rewarding or supporting me through some of the toughest and saddest times I had faced despite being a pretty ok job previously. I didnt know if this would work as a full time business and I was jumping the gun and deluding myself into thinking I would have enough work to keep me going but it turned out pretty well! 3 years later Im still here (battling a little bit at the moment with Facebooks inevitable and constant moving of the goal posts but Ive gotten thought them before) working harder than ever with a huge portfolio of works, a great product range and some achievements under my belt that Im very proud of. So thank you to all of you for making it possible, for liking what I do, commissioning my work, buying my products, to the other Facebook businesses that have been a friendly and amazing support network and to all the printers, businesses, galleries and shops who have supplied, stocked and shown my work and given me the opportunities that mean BCH continues to thrive. Here is to another year of self employment and hopefully many more to come and a great 2015 I hope youll stick around to see where this goes next!
