Morning Uncle Teddy...I am truly amazed at the response or like thereof of my so-called friends to this horrific recounting of Americas history with black people.....it seems no one is willing to even acknowledge that these atrocities happened let alone try to atone or make amends for them....thanks for sharing this post....I will uses it as a barometer for judging true friendships...from now on... Play Video Good morning Uncle Clarence Im not sure that it is a matter of indifference by your friends to the horrific past experiences of Blacks in America rather people are sensitive to stoking the fire of racial violence all over again. Due to humans sentimental nature we are constantly minutes or seconds away from race wars for past, present, and future human failures towards one another. People never forget, most bear grudges (founded and unfounded), and some await opportunity to exploit others regardless of reasons. To minimize this potential volcanic eruption of hate and racial acrimony most people make the elective choice to let the sleeping dog lay in peace rather than start something with potential risk of snowballing out of control to the detriment of most of us. We cant ignore history but dont want to relive them or make overtures to finally go for our pound of flesh over what was done to us. Striking the needed objective balance between appreciating history, learning from it, and using it to make present/ future better is a challenge to most folks. Understanding their challenge people fly under the radar than expose their weaknesses thank you for that very wise prospective Teddy...balance is what i need now more than ever....having lived here in America for 70+ yrs...a part of me is just sick and tired of being the bigger person.and making nice....thank you my friend...youre right ...of course It is frustrating to keep waiting for that human perfection or perfect state of union in any country with so many differences and influences. It looks bad here but it is worse in many countries. I have traveled wide and experienced many cultures in action... I have never come or read of a perfect blissful country. As you correctly said balance is key. Tolerance for imperfections we live thru. Courage to effect the positive changes we can while setting foundation for future changes our children can effect. Rome wasnt built in a day but that Rome lies largely in ruins today... time changes everything if harnessed right. We might down today but up tomorrow if we plan right. Consider the reality that Africa once ruled the world and where is Africa today? Same goes for Rome, Athens, Britain, etcetera Not to trivialize your valid concerns but I think exposure to alternate realities in other nations might help ground a better understanding of the the lesser evil we enjoy here Again, young wise one.....you have succeeded in saving a few relationships that I might have discarded in a moment of painful realization....good and bad are subjective qualities and can only be attributed by comparison.....I think we all, who live here and have not traveled to other countries do suffer from a kind of tunnel vision that warps our perspective of the world view..I feel honored to have friends like you and Hazel who care enough to share your experiences strengths and hope with me and my family...thanks again my friend and Brother.....
