Morning all:0) As Ian mentioned yesterday, our latest Low Pressure is now being cut-off and will weaken somewhat as a result. This will have the effect of reducing the windspeed thankfully. The centre of the Low has now moved into the western English Channel and winds across the south of the UK are turning more south-easterly as a result. Although the Low is weaker, the general environment remains quite unstable . with bands of rain and showers wrapping around the Low centre. Ive been looking at the early afternoon soundings for the available stations across the south today. All show instability rising to between 20 and 25 thousand feet with CAPE between 200 & 400j . Given some solar input well be looking at some heavy showers, prolonged at times and slower moving than yesterday. Thunder and hail likely as well. Next week remains unsettled and showery down here with some colder though probably drier weather by the weekend.
