Morning all!! Had a lot of the new people at trial week mention to me about what they should and shouldn’t be eating. Sooooooooooo First and foremost the most important part of our diet should be low starchy veggies. These are veggies which you could eat raw (but you wouldn’t choose too but could eat them raw) for example green leafy veggies (spinach, kale, sprouts), Mushrooms, onions peppers. You can see where I’m going with all that cant you? Eat a whole bunch of these because everyone agrees that these are good for you right? So we want the bulk of our food consumption to be low starchy green veggies which could be eaten raw then that way you will really start to see the benefits of what we are putting in ourselves Second is nutrient dense protein e.g. non hormone injected grass fed beef, or wild caught salmon, free range poultry and eggs, low sugar sources of dairy e.g. cottage cheese, Greek yoghurt Summary of protein source is basically humanely raised hormone free animals which will equal great nutrient dense protein Third, good quality whole food fat. You wouldn’t choose to beat a shot glass of sunflower oil into you but yet the majority of commercial foods even the ladled healthy foods contain genetically produced sun flower oil, soy, vegetable oil. But this does not mean that all fats are bad. Avocado, cocoa, coconut, any seeds, almonds and other nuts are whole food fats, natural untouched great whole food fats. Also consuming these fats will make up a large portion of your calories throughout the day because they contain twice the amount of calories than protein or carbs Last point will be fruit, now don’t get me wrong fruit is good for you but eating high fructose fruits and a good amount which you often see when people start eating healthy as a substitute for a meal is not ideal. You will lose weight but you will lose lean muscle mass (muscle tissue) and probably increase your fat mass by doing this due to their high sugar count If you are to choose fruit opt for the Low fructose fruits such as any type of berries. Any type of berries will be a better substitute EAT THE WHOLE FOOD PEOPLE Another beautiful one outside have a awesome day everyone
