Morning all! It is now 1135 and King Henry is in Normandy, still attempting to secure his legacy and shore up the political situation. He was enjoying himself, however, and on one particular evening he decided to feast on lampreys. Quite how many he had nobody will ever know, but it was clearly far too many, and he became quite ill. So ill, in fact, that just over a week later, on 1 December 1135, King Henry I of England died. His named heir, Matilda, was in Anjou with her husband and sons, which presented an opportunity for someone ambitious. That someone was Stephen of Blois, Henrys nephew, and he made his way to England with a loyal group of men and had himself crowned King before Christmas. And thus The Anarchy began... Today in the Neptune well have England v India in the ODI cricket early doors, followed by horse racing, followed by Liverpool v Chelsea in the Capital One Cup semi final first leg. All the facilities!
