Morning all. Okay - have not ranted for a while. But I was just listening to a commentary on the radio which said that there was no senior govt official at the airport yesterday when the very successful junior Carifta Games Track and Field team returned home yesterday. No Minister of Sport, no PS, no senior official from the Sport ministry, no one from the Sport Company of T&T. How it go look? How are these young people supposed to feel? Shouldnt there have been someone to greet and congratulate this youngsters for their great performance? Shouldnt there have been someone to tell them job well done and keep up the good work and we are so proud of you?? What message is being sent? I think that this is very sad and implies a lack of interest in these young atheletes. I hope they all know that we, the people of T&T are extremely proud of them and join with them in their celebration. As a former national athlete, I know the pride one feels when one dons the red white and black to represent my country. It is hard work but there is nothing like seeing you flag flying high after succeeding. I do hope that this is not par for the course and that these young athletes and all other athletes representing Trinidad and Tobago are given the proper recognition that is well deserved. there - ah done.
