Morning, all! You know, Ive really loved this community - my Facebook tribe, handcrafted friend by friend and name by name, creating what I hope has been a safe space here on my wall for friends of all faiths and none, friends whose politics are like my own and friends who are willing to disagree and converse civilly over the differences, folk Ive met at gigs, folk Ive never met in person but who have met my music and enjoyed it, crafters, neighbours, friends-of-friends and more. This has been my go-to space online to talk about all manner of things, important and silly. Now... I dont know. Facebook seem set on angering much of its consumer-base. I joined Ello yesterday, though I dont know what it does yet; I think Im on Googleplus, I shall take a look at dear old Livejournal (where I never stopped lurking) and I am getting better at using Twitter. For crafters, theres Ravelry. Its a pain, and it takes time, for me to learn and find my voice for a new platform, but its clear that this is no longer a reliable and safe space. If it ever was. When FB threw me out yesterday my first response was to take to Twitter and let some people at least know why Id disappeared... and ask for help there. I have a widespread and very assorted acquaintance here, and I value you all; many of you Ive met through this platform and only communicate here. I dont want to lose my tribe. So, come find me elsewhere, and recommend to me which platforms I should look at, and which I can link together to cascade communications. And may today be a bit easier, please?
