Morning all.. happy new year..I rarely post on here.just read and enjoy the posts..pics of other dogs. But just felt i needed to speak out for my dog + other bullbreeds / crosses . I would say more than half of other dog owners / walkers / lovers that i meet on walks feel the need to pull away their dogs or shoo away buzz , that because he so timid as normaly been approached by theirs.Im sure that others will agree that like ppl they are all different . I fact the majority of bull breeds ive known / meet have been mostly docile + placid. The reason for this rant is because of the wonderful couple i meet on the canal this morning. We were all walking towards each other with buzz + their dogs off leads. There were no issues and all dogs meet + sniffed each other with buzz doing his normal tucking tail between legs dont kill me look : ) . Has we walked away without talking though i did say high I heard the woman say to her partner that she hates pitbulls. So i stopped + said hello again to whom i assumed was one off only two qualified police officers in south wales that tests dogs at rescue centres / pounds etc . She seemed very confused. But then told me that their 3 dogs cost £600 each. I told them that they could of saved alot of money + a dogs life if they had gone to a rescue centre, but the choice is quite limited to mostly bull breeds . Again looking quite blankly she replied that their dogs were pedigrees ( i dont know why she told me that ? ) . I didnt think she understood anything i said, and as we parted i said i hope they dont make the same assumptions with ppls race, colour , house or car type . Ps.While we were having our lovely chat one of their dogs pood on the tow path and completly ignored it, though while i offered them one of my poo bags the male partner flicked it into the canal ( the ducks werent impressed either )
