Morning cup of Joe Yesterday morning I had the privilege while walking out on my deck with my morning coffee to witness a wondrous site; a Bald eagle flew right over my house. Why would that be wondrous? Well, I live in the middle of Gridley. We are used to seeing ducks, geese and all other local foul, but it is truly a rear site to see such a majestic bird over our town, not to mention our National bird. I am not one who puts stock in signs, but one cannot deny that a sight such as this could stir that patriotic feeling in most Americans, especially in the current mood of the country. So here it goes, this is my own thoughts on liberty and freedom in California and America. As a group of men gathered in secret those many centuries ago, drawn together by frustration of the freedoms they had envisioned and had journeyed so far to realize, only to be bound by the same tyranny they longed to escape. These men , our founding fathers knew at that moment, by coming together to resist the king they had to be all in, or dead, and it was at that moment they were willing to give up all that they had including their families, homes and businesses for the right to be free men. As the Declaration of Independence was being drafted, they all knew that there would be a bounty on their heads and that their families were to become outlaws. It was in that moment they knew that they would be hung in the gallows for treason against King George. It was by their aspirations of freedom and firm Moral characters that shined through in these words would set the cornerstone of a great nation “When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bonds which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of natures God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.” Reflecting on these opening paragraphs truly amazes me of the hindsight that our founding fathers had, not only did they set up a new nation for themselves, but for all future generations to come. The sheer power of just a few of the words that lay on this page sums up our rights as individuals, those being the right to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness. So here we are now in the year 2013, a new threat has come to America, and to the people of California. The leadership in California has become just as the colonies way back when has become, corrupted, overpowered and unable to sustain itself. So I must ask all of my fellow Californians these three simple questions. Do you feel you have a life in California? With California’s multitude of Law, regulations and blistering taxations do you still feel that you have a relatively comfortable and prosperous life? Do you feel that your liberties are being slowly chipped away? With the laws and regulations such as transgender bathroom use in our public school systems, the clean air acts that suffocate local farmers and ranchers, or the ever vigilant attacks on our gun rights, do you still feel that you have your liberty in California? Do you know feel that you have the ability to pursue happiness in California after pondering the first two questions? My friends and fellow Colonist (County citizens) now is the time to once again answer the call of Liberty for all of the Northern California Colonies (counties). The time has now come to rise up and demand our freedoms back from Sacramento, not by bloodshed, but by voice, unity and determination, just as the great men that forged this nation so gallantly did. The road will be long and filled with the redcoats of resistance, but our cause is just. The second ride of Revere (Alarm) is here now, and the riders have answered the call in both Siskiyou and Modoc colonies (Counties). Let us here in Butte County feed the flame of liberty for all of Northern California, and help unite all of the Northern Colonies (Counties) as one voice, one great power to break free from the tyrannical crown of Sacramento California.. I make this pledge to all my fellow colonist now, I will stand firm and not waiver, I will uphold this cause to the best of my ability, I will stand alongside my fellow patriots to the last breath, no matter how dark the road my seem.
