Morning everyone, Paul here. I dont often post here as I mainly take care of the photography side of MOSC, but I feel that I need to clarify a few things in regards to our recent paid membership on the melbourneoldschoolcruisers.au website. I will say this once and once only - we the team at Melbourne Old School Cruisers do our very best in making all our events free of charge to all patrons, and will continue to do so. We will never charge an entry fee unless that event is for a specific charity, which we will only ask for a donation. If you dont want to donate, thats your choice, we wont hold it against you as we want everyone to still enjoy our events. Now, in regards to Paid Memberships on our website, this has nothing to do with our events directly. Many months ago we were approached by many MOSC followers wanting more, yes more from us. They suggested setting up some form of paid membership which gives them additional benefits. We, the team at MOSC have been working tirelessly to secure sponsors and vendors to help offer benefits to you, our members. What we have come up with is this... For $25/year, members will receive the following benefits: 1) Receive a Melbourne Old School Key ring and sticker 2) Members only Newsletter (never miss out on an event again) and info on Member only cruises. 3) Multiple store discount cards: - Autobarn Chadstone: 20% off - Rare Spares: 10% off - Other MOSC Sponsor benefits being finalised now 4) Club Permit (being finalised with CAMS as we now have an official affiliation with them) 5) Full access to our website which will include a Member Forum (coming soon - discuss your builds with other members, techincal support, Unlimited classifieds) 6) Vehicle Registry - List your vehicle for promotional work As more sponsors come on board, more savings and benefits will be passed directly onto paid members. People are asking where does that $25 go? Does it go to the admin team and line their pockets? Absolutely not. We dont make a single cent from any of this and we dont want to. All the membership money goes into producing more merchandise (t-shirts, jumpers, hats, etc) and helps cover the website and forum costs. Thats it. So just to reiterate, Melbourne Old School Cruisers is not charging $25 to attend our events. Our events to all regular followers will always be free, and charity events will ask for a donation. I hope this post helps clarify a few things. If you have any further questions, please contact our admin team. Thanks, Paul
