Morning everyone! and as Leigh Catherine sent me bright and early - Happy Shuckers morning! Well...its been over 4 years when Tim picked me up on a street corner in downtown Montreal to give me a lift down to the old port... I didnt have a car. I was importing what few oysters I could sell. I had just gone to see a friend and new client ...carrying the sample oysters in 3 bags of ice... ...on the subway. Tim sees me on the corner as I was walking home, picks me up...and as a thanks I shuck him an oyster in the parking lot. He thought it was so ridiculous that I would be carrying around an oyster to shuck for him that he said we should make a movie about me. I couldnt understand why he would want to do that or why we would. But we met one perfect sunny morning and talked and I just flat out said, Why would you want to make a movie about me? to which he replied with the only answer that I would agree to... I want to understand why you love it so much. And here we are, years later with amazing friends help, and travels and the Crown Salts team for seeing the potential and acquiring our amazing associate and buddy and fantastic cohort and director and editor Jon Deitcher (who hated oysters and now asks for me to bring some when we edit) and all the amazing people that gave us their time ... and we have a very nice little movie that explores why we love what we do so much. And its not only for oyster shuckers - we hope you all recognize your passion in the film in your own way, what drives you, what you love, be you a cellist, a painter, a doctor, a sculptor, or even a grater. Our cast and crew thank you screening will be tonight at the corona theatre. 7 pm doors open. Please come early if you would like a seat. We look forward to sharing news soon on all other screenings and announcements. Following the film, our amazing friends at the Pub Burgundy Lion will be hosting an awesome after party!
