Morning folks. I was getting ready to go out yesterday morning in that horrible weather and i thought on something that my good friend Elaine McDonald Fulton was saying to me recently. When we were weans going out on a snowy winters morning our mothers did this strange thing. They would put on your wee duffel coat or burbarry and then proceed to wrap a big woolen scarf round your neck but on the OUTSIDE of your coat, It would then be crossed over in front of you, and pinned at the back with a big Kiltie pin. Your arms wouldnt go down by your sides and so off you would go to school with your pals, who were all dressed the same and we would waddle down the Tanworks like a wee army of Penguins. Strange custom indeed. Another thing wee Anne Hendry always says at night is Coorie In and that reminded me of this lovely song by the amazing Matt McGinn.Be careful out there today.x
