Morning funeral for Joel Lawson--9.30 am at Mt Salem open Bible By :Alan Lewin The funeral services for the late Joel Earle Lawson, the popular and gifted Montego Bay Journalist will be held on August 30th, at the Mount Salem Open Bible church in Montego Bay.The service will start at 9.30 am.after which interment will follow at the Dovecot cemetery.Joel Lawson was a popular Montego Bay Journalist, starting at the Western Mirror as a freelancer ,then a staff where he rises to become the editor.On more that one occasions he owned several magazines,and most recently was the founder of the hotnews paper.He had multiply talents which far exceeds other Journalist.he was so creative that he alone can write,edit and do graphic work on an entire newspaper.He had a knack for building Websites,build posters,business cards,put old cd music to cassettes, old VHS to dvd,creates music videos, build TV commercials, Build certificates ,he was a Videographer ,he was a photographer, he was a sports writer and an entertainment journalist, compiling the weekly charts,he was a tailor,he was a chef, and was very kind to many people who past by for money or food.He never like to see a person hungry,if he dont have the money he would barrow from a person to feed you, and when he make money he paid it back.He was so confident of the English language that he boost that he dont think no one know English as he did.He went to Kingston College in the early 70s, although he originates from Mount Salem in Montego Bay.He was the manager of the computer store on Strand Street where he did a lot of typing work for people.He was famous also to book several upcoming artistes on the annual reggae Sumfest festival.This year he did not attended the event due to his health.
