Morning guys:) hope we are well today. I want to share something personal with you:) Last night should have been the night my baby boy went off to play. But no! My stubborn little bugger carried on fighting. He was in a very deep sleep with his oxygen mask keeping him breathing. I was lying on the bed with him stroking his beautiful head. Watching the rise and fall of his chest as Im telling him to imagine standing at the top of a big slide with Jesse in his arms. He needs to take big breaths to get his brother safely down. You could see he was trying to take these breaths but he started to struggle. The dr from ICU came over and wanted to take Louis over to the intensive unit to put him on a nippy machine to push air into his lungs. I said No, if anything was going to happen, it would be on the ward he knows and loves and where he feels safe. The ward nurses agreed. They brought the machine over and strapped a god awful mask to my sons face. He looked like Bain from Batman in all honesty. We made the heart crushing decision to turn the machine off at 7.30 the following morning if it didnt improve him. All the family was there including Aunty Jac. We all sat and sung songs to him, told him stories, even joked everytime someone needed the bathroom. Im going for a poo, Lou is what we all said everytime:) It got to that dreaded time, and off the machine went. Then.......my little soldier started taking big breaths on his own. We shouted the nurse to come and take his oxygen levels. But she said there would be no change. I pleaded with her and she came to take them. She was in shock and called the dr in as his levels had come right back up from the danger. The dr couldnt believe it and said my boy is made of tough stuff. So they started his medicines again. The family left so me, daddy gav and lous daddy could be on our own with him. I couldnt believe it!!! My boy was fighting for his life!! Later that night... We all decided to stay with him. We got on the bed watching Marley and Me, and I fell asleep cuddling my son. It got to about 3am on the 28th January... Louiss eyes flickered open. I looked straight at him and smiled and said hello baby.. Only he looked right through me and started to shake, he was fitting! I screamed at the nurse to get me his meds so I could inject him, but it didnt work. The drs from ICU came and pumped him full of Medazolam to calm him down. Within minutes he took his last breath:( Thats the night part of me died with him:( So tonight..... I ask you to raise a wand to the sky for my boy Louis!!! Take a picture, send it viral, lets get his charity out there, together lets crush this evil and keep our children where they should be.... Text donate LEGA55 £3 to 70070 and lets make his magic happen xxxxxxxxx
