Morning prayer: Dear God, you hardened the heart of Pharoah, that - TopicsExpress

Morning prayer: Dear God, you hardened the heart of Pharoah, that much I know from my Christian Doctrine classes. You had a purpose for this, probably wanting the people of Israel to leave Egypt and make their nation in the land you promised (I could be wrong, but thats my take on it). So I search for the reason why the hearts of those in our government are so hard when it comes to providing immediate succor to and support for the survivors of calamities and when it comes to delivering justice for mass murder. I cannot see any other reason than what stares me in the face: We need to push harder for better governance, break the ugly old mold of Philippine politics as a virulent infection weakening the systems of a nation forever in the hospital. I will not ask you to soften the hearts of those who govern us. Instead I ask you to give each and every one of my Inang Bayans 100 million people the wisdom to know when and how to make their push toward a nation that deserves their skill, their hearts and their minds. Please help our little faith and guide us right so we may finally find what we seek. Please guide us to that space where we finally get enough sun to grow strong as the molave even as we try so very hard to be as flexible as bamboo in stormy winds. Also, if you choose to strike those jackasses in our government (you know who they are better than I do) with lightning and devastating plagues upon their houses, I will stand aside and utter a very fervent prayer of thanks. Amen.
