Morris Hotrod Diary week 1. Sunday ... bought the car. It drove from Ammanford with no problems. Took it for a good spin around Mumbles .... again, all went well. Bought the car knowing it had some wiring issues and a strange occasional non-charging problem identical to the one Ive had in the Morris 1000. Seller, who is a friend, took money off the price for me to get the electrics looked at. Monday ... every time car started perfectly so decided to take it for a spin to check it out. Got half a mile when clutch master cylinder sprung a leak and dumped the fluid. Took it home. Didnt get a chance to look at it again til yesterday. Thursday. Clutch working ok with tiny leak. Car still starting and running fine so decided to try again but not go too far. Drove to Tesco car park but Id been concentrating so much on the clutch I hadnt topped up the petrol. Ran out of petrol outside Tesco .... abandoned car and walked to Sainsburys petrol station with a can. Drove car to car park to check it out. Left it a while, wouldnt start. Fuel not coming through. Sorted that, got it started, went to drive home. Stalled at traffic lights, wouldnt re-start ... battery flat. Arrggghhhh!!!!! Got RAC this time to jump it. Left power pack in boot connected to battery to drive home. RAC man followed me home. Stalled and struggled to re-start again one more time on the way home. Fuel issue again. Need to clean out the lines and the pump I think. Next time, when I know theres a problem, I decide in my wisdom well it seems ok, lets give it a try .... someone hit me please, hard!!!! Okay, okay, I know .... typical stubborn man!!!
