Development and promotion of volleyball sitting among disabled athletes with damaged musculoskeletal system is one of the priorities of the Paralympic Committee (IPC). Since 2011, the Moscow Open Cup on Volleyball Sitting got out into the international stage. Russian fans will again be able to see on the playground the strongest volleyball players from different countries: USA, China, Holland2, Japan, Slovenia, and Russia. The best teams of our country will participate as well as in the fight for first place. It is important to note that the International Open Tournament in volleyball sitting is one of the training stages of the Paralympic Games. The organizers of the tournament are: - The Government of Moscow; - The World Organization Volleyball for Disabled (WOVD); - the Department of Physical Education and Sport in Moscow; - Regional public organization "Supporting Youth Initiatives"; - State Budget Institution of Moscow city “Sport Training Center in Team Game-sports "Izmailovo” The program of the tournament: • August 16, 2013.: 11:30-12:00: arrangement of the teams, ceremonial opening of the Tournament; 13:00-19:00 - first round games of the competition. • August 17, 2013: 10:00-19:00: first round games of the competition. • August 18, 2013: 10:00-14:00: games play-off, final games, 14:00-15:00: closing ceremony, gala dinner, leaving competitors.
