Moses KEPT the law and killed a man for merely picking up some sticks on the Sabbath. Numbers 15:31-36. Jesus BROKE the Law (at least the Pharisees literal reading if it) and healed on the Sabbath. Mark 1:21-26; 3:1-5; Luke 14:1-6; John 5:5-9; John 9:14. Go figure! I am so glad Jesus is the one who lives inside me through the Holy Spirit and NOT Moses. No telling who I would kill, or want to kill, if Moses indwelt me rather than Jesus. Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath, not Moses. Luke 6:5. He is the only authoritative interpreter of the Law, not Moses. The Law might have came by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. John 1:17. Jesus fulfilled Moses Law by filling-it-full of His grace and truth. When this happened, the Law began to expand and morph into something very different--- a promise rather than a threat, an exhortation rather than a condemnation, and a hope rather than a fear. Sometimes Jesus will break Moses Law in order to establish his own. But, in reality, He is not breaking the Law but rather fulfilling it, that is filling it full of His goodness.
