Most answers to civic problems that the general public gets attached to are simple, obvious ... and wrong. Stopping violence by (attempting to) stop gun ownership is such an answer. I have several friends who deride gun advocates, in light of recent atrocities, as some form of horrid, insensitive boobs - in one case, such so called horrid people are deemed worthy of being unfriended prima fascia. I think this is narrow minded and mean. The idea that gun advocates are insensitive turds is stupid - they just value an actual constitutional right whose purposes are broad and valuable. The problem with the current epidemic is psychological, and more likely biological and brain based -- AND FIXABLE. Like most psych issues in America, the psychological part gets swept under a very big and heavy rug. Listen to Daniel Amen, a forerunner in brain science.
