Most fun growing up is a toss up. Best memories are being with my uncle Harry. I fished with him a short time until I left high school. But, my mother said I spend a lotta time as a baby with Harry and his wife. My picture of Mt. McGinnis reflection on the salmon creek @ Mendenhall Visitor Center is a reminder of my time being with my uncles on the ole Yukon & Yukon II fishing at Inian Islands. My very first time being at Inian Islands was the summer of 1944 with my dad Carl Marvin Sr. Working after high school was a very close second of memories being a Tlingit Indian and being the best times of my life. My work ethics came from growing up as a Fisherman with our uncles & their friends. Fishing was a lot more difficult than airline work. We were already use to hard work being fishermen. Of course we never complaint about work at the Airlines. hahahaha. Alaska Airlines has always been good to us.... We earned our pay when ever we were on the clock. My dad told me before we went to work. We only get about $2.60 an hour. Work like were getting $5 an hour. so, they cant complain about the job we do. There was a several of us from HUNA working for Alaska Airlines.
