Most jobs could be done today by AI. The societal costs are too - TopicsExpress

Most jobs could be done today by AI. The societal costs are too high, however, for implementation as it would undermine any chance at profitability for the half dozen or so multinational conglomerates. In fact it could usher in an entire societal collapse as more and more people find themselves without the means to sustain their existence. If every construction, landscaping, nursing, manufacturing, fast food, restaurant, farm, transportation, legal field can be filled with computers or robots that never tire, never get sick, never have court in the morning, have a sick kid...... well, why would anyone hire a person in the first place? Look into EMI (Experiments into Musical Intelligence) and Emily (arstechnica/science/2009/09/virtual-composer-makes-beautiful-musicand-stirs-controversy/) also, AP using Algorithms to write news stories (qz/228218/the-aps-newest-business-reporter-is-an-algorithm/) . Once they actually teach a computer the different languages in an active way rather than passive and they start writing their own code and repairing our code..... Well I hope we are able to get someone actually worthy of writing the final instruction set. Cant be a politician or anyone connected to politics in general which rules out every government employee, university, church, and big business...... We arent capable. Maybe a child.... but I dunno how much My Little Pony and Chocolate Chip pancakes I could stand before bursting a gasket lol.
