Most mornings when I wake up the homeless and offer them a donut - TopicsExpress

Most mornings when I wake up the homeless and offer them a donut and a cup of coffee they are all relatively well and in good shape. This morning however I arrived at one of the stops and my attention was immediately drawn to a woman laying on the tarmac, without a blanket or a coat covering her. Her pulse and her breathing were good, but it took me time to wake her. When I did she was shivering. As I got her to her feet I then picked her up like one would pick up a little baby in my arms and I put her into the Van. I turned on the heat full blast. She slept in the van for the next five hours and when she awoke I brought her to A&W for supper. Her addiction is so baffling, so cunning, so hateful and yet she yearns for it, in spite of the cold grip of death it has over her every time she uses it. After we ate I asked her where she would like me to bring her. The answer was clear, ‘Bring me to my dealer”. As she walked away from the van the question in my mind was if I’d ever see her again, alive that is. The Dandelion Society walks with the homeless and addicted where they are in the midst of their addiction and chaos. Our love is unconditional in a non-judgmental way for them all. Please consider financially supporting the Dandelion Society so we can continue our vital work on the Street. For all of you who have no financial means to support us continue praying for us each and every day. Your prayers help. All gifts no matter how small are received with great gratitude.
