Most of da tym heritage,culture n tradition go hand in hand.Its almost as if u cnt seperate 1 frm da other without messing sum1s Identity. But this begs da question - can we incorporate heritage practices into this day n age? Sum ppl disregard their culture.Others r so distanced frm it dat they can hardly speak their home language - let alone read it.I find it scary. Dat said,I do acknowledge dat sum cultural practices clash wit our basic constitutional rigts.4 instance,cultures dat practice arranged marriages. 2 b able 2 luv hu u want is sumthn dat all ppl shud b allowed 2 do. A lady friend of mine decided she wudnt b able 2 live wit sum1 she ddnt luv.She ran away n only returned 2 her family wen they told her theyd b willing 2 let her choose hu she wanted 2 spend her life wit. Our culture n heritage is definitely important.We must appreciate our cultural history n make da effort 2 learn more abt it.However,our traditional practices may need 2 adjust n make themselves relevant 2 da tyms we live in.
