Most of my animations get what little airplay they get in the UK, but oddly this one has had fourteen hundred views almost exclusively in the States. As Ive had a request for the lyrics:- THE WORM AND THE CRAB A worm and a crab woke up one day And the worm turned to the crab and began to say Because the sun is shining bright And it’s a long long time before it turns to night How about we just act on a whim And go to the beach and have a swim Dom dom squiddle biddle bom bom bay And the crab said, well, it’s a lovely day So yeah, I guess, that would be OK And the worm said we could take something to drink And to eat, maybe sandwiches. What do you think? Dom etc. And the crab said, I guess, sandwiches is good. And I’d like to help prepare them, I really would So look, you get the bread and the stuff in between And you put it together and I’ll make sure it’s clean So the worm made the sandwiches, they were quite a hit He worked really hard, but the crab did his bit. He made sure they were clean and all that stuff When the worm had finished he said, yep, they’re clean enough. And the worm said, I don’t wanna make a fuss But the beach is a long way, and we ought to take a bus And the crab said, sure, you pay the fares And I’ll pay the extras like for travel upstairs. And the bus driver said, wow, that’s a little strange A worm and a crab but it sure makes a change Welcome aboard. Perhaps upstairs you’d like to be And the crab said, er yeah, tell me buddy…is it free? They got to the beach, and the sun was still shining The crab said, this is for what I’ve been pining The worm said ‘me too’ then he said to him ‘Before we eat we should take a swim’. But the crab said, you go ahead, swim away I’ll stay on the beach, ‘cos it’s such a nice day. So the sea contained a really happy worm And though at first it made people squirm When they saw how happy he was they said, What a lovely worm, and soon he’ll be fed On sandwiches made with wholemeal bread. When the worm got back he opened his box But then he kinda got a few shocks Where there ought to be sandwiches, maybe twenty To his alarm the box was empty And he looked at the crab, he was filled with dread Have you eaten my sandwiches made with wholemeal bread? And the crab said, well, a crab’s gotta do What a crab’s gotta do, like, what’s it to you? I mean, come on worm, don’t be so mean After all, it was me that checked they were clean But it’s nice knowing you, worm, it was fun while it lasted… And the worm turned to the crab and said And the worm turned to the crab and said And said You shellfish bastard. youtu.be/dgA94UlKPbg
