Most of my colleagues on FB know that I have a passion for stats. Quite often, weekly, I get a question regarding records etc. I have no issue answering them. I know most of the relevant ones off the top of my head. What I have zero knowledge or passion for, or very limited knowledge of are Gym lifts Junior, teen or masters records Fed records Drug tested records Equipped records No wraps records Now, all those records are incredibly easy to find on the internet. Instead of simply posting up whats the record for blah, blah, blah, go to the Fed you know follows the rule you want the lift to apply to, check their website, and youll have your answer. There was a very unsavoury thread recently with far too many personal attacks. The annoying thing was the question was answered quite early, as it was an obvious answer, but that didnt stop another 100 comments. The goal posts shifted numerous times, and it again makes our sport a laughing stock. It appears with every step forward me must take 2 steps back, its very frustrating and avoidable. If you want to know drug tested records, simply check Powerlifting Australias excellent website. If youre too lazy to do that, you probably dont really just want to know the answer.
