Most of my struggle: I recognize a deep, longing desire to be a part of a community. I find it funny (not in a humorous way): we - especially Americans - seek our independence, our freedom, and anticipate the day we can buy our own little box - all so that we can live alone and isolated from the person next to us/those around us. And then we have children, and were all doing more work than we have to, were alone - trying to figure it all out, we live far away from other family members, our friends who dont have kids think were crazy/arent interested, weve got mom wars and self-judgment. All when really we just want to connect. Need to connect. We want to be heard. We want help. We want to know that what were doing is ok - that were good moms. Introvert or extrovert - we all want to connect, we need to. Its our driving force and it just seems like everything we have set up in our culture makes it such a struggle to do so. - Angela Lucero
