Most of the activity has remained well south of our area - TopicsExpress

Most of the activity has remained well south of our area overnight, with snow levels now around 4,500 feet. Northern California will experience most of the rainfall during the daytime hours with a few lingering showers across the higher terrain in our area. Snowfall totals in the Cascades have been very light with around 2 of accumulation in the last 12-24 hours. On Friday another round of light precipitation will arrive along with lowering snow levels down to around 1,500 to 2,000 feet. This will result in another quick burst of accumulating snow. Once again the snow totals will be marginal at best with total accumulations in the Crater Lake/Diamond Lake areas of 2-4. I am betting Mt. Ashland will only see around 2-3 from all of these systems combined. This is certainly not what we wanted to see given our meager snow pack. In the extended we will once again be under the influence of a ridge pattern with weak disturbances trying to undercut the high and bring very light showers into the weekend. Overall the weather should be fairly uneventful with low clouds and fog development during the early morning hours. The chance for significant rainfall appears to diminish as we go further into next week. There are some signs of another pattern change by next weekend. This will need to be closely monitored.
