Most of the black people I know are successful. When I hear the thoughts of some nonblacks on an entire race, they are contrary to what Ive seen from my family and friends. Of course there are those people that arent doing right, but I see far less of it. I see hard working African-Americans that want to get ahead in life. Living in West Virginia, I could imply the same negative rhetoric as used against African-Americans, but it would be inaccurate. Inaccurate because I see things from a Biblical perspective. I want and need to see people as struggling to find solutions to the human experience. Devaluing a race or a single person does nothing but kill the soul. We should pray for those that are bitter against life, instead of debating in anger. Fear is behind these thoughts and actions. We must pray to shine a light on injustices everywhere. Will things ever change by praying? The way we perceive threats will. The best way to fight fear is with love. If we continue to fight fear with fear, then things will never change for African-Americans/ all people. The biggest thing missed in Dr. Martin Luther King Jrs nonviolent movement was the influence of Christ in his life. Dr. King didnt start it, nor did Ghandi. King and Ghandi were viewed as radicals for standing up against the establishment of racial inequality. But they were not the first. Jesus was the first radical to stand against world traditions. He stood against mans natural instincts to divide and conquer. Not only did Jesus defy natural law, but He defied matters that corrupted the soul. He departed leaving life lessons, and left the Holy Spirit to guide. What we are seeing today is the rejection of Christs teaching. We are witnessing the hypocrisy in mans nature. We treat each other like animals, while at the same time, we want to be seen as civilized. GOD made us very aware that we are seperated from the animal because of our ability to have a relationship with Christ. We are made to defy natural law in order to serve Him. Yes, we make mistakes. But we have a relationship with GOD to be forgiven and to change. We must see this in every person. If we recognize fear and the inability for someone to understand that fear, then we are bound by GODS law to pray for them, in love. This is the difficult part because of our nature. Unless we have a vested interest in someone changing, then we dont have love for them. I challenge every person to look beyond self, and pray for another as if your life depends on it. The reality is, our lives do depend on it. We are faced with the difficult challenge of saving each other from destruction. It is no accident that GOD created us in love and now, we must reciprocate that love for Him by serving others in the way He demands. We must be better people. I pray that someone reads this message from the Father, and make a life altering change for themselves and other people, in the name of Jesus.
