Most of the excuses offered by the editors in this story are complete BS. Even with a degree from a preferred Ivy League university, a Pulitzer Prize on my resume and more than one NY Times bestselling book, I have gotten EXTREME cold shoulders from these mags whenever Ive approached them about ANYTHING. They have absolutely NO interest in diversity and never did, even long before the recession. They are like the old secret societies I remember at Yale--existing exclusively as a means to hook up privileged members of the club. The recession has only given them cover for their longstanding hypocrisy. The end.
