Most of this looks great, very Arthur C. Clarke in style which is a style that suits Nolan well. Its the stuff with the kids, the love conquers all and family first bits, that Im less sold on. Nolans like Kubrick - hes a somewhat cold approach works best with the smart, high-concept stuff and real science fiction suits him perfectly. When he tries to do Spielberg-style sentimentality though I wonder if wont be as effective.
