Most of us are aware that after a long summer hiatus, school starts back this week. Many of you are veterans of many years of dropping off and picking up your kids and driving around our different schools. You are used to the pattern and know what to do. Dont forget that there will be new parents at every school who are getting the hang of our school traffic patterns. Leave in plenty of time to account for delays and increased travel times. Be sure to look out for buses, and school children standing by the roadside as you make your way to work. Be sure to pay close attention to the directions the deputies working the school zone give you. Look for them, and be alert to where they are in the roadway. They have a dangerous job to do, so we ask that you spot them early and follow their directions. We have worked with the school system all summer on our school safety plans, and we are ready for another great school year. Summer is about over, lets get ready for fall.
