Most of us do not appreciate the hardness of a rock... until we need a solid foundation for a building, or a capstone to hold up a specific section of a construction structure. It is only in a firmly-founded building that we feel safe to lay plush carpeting and scatter padded chairs knowing that we also have soft mattresses in the bedrooms. Beneath all that warmth and velvety comfort is the foundation of cold, steely rock. Ive just painted my picture of our Heavenly Father. :-) When parents do NOT have that steely frame in the robustness of the character of the father, not only will the marriage itself suffer from lack of a solid foundation, but the children will be spoilt rotten. I thank the Heavenly Father for His steel and velvet. All other ground is sinking sand...
